Tell me more! It's been years since I've seen them. Are they predicted for tonight in Northern MN? A brief search didn't bring much up, but I did hear that they were visible a few nights ago.

Haven.t seen them for at least 20 years. Remember them in Wisconsin on family vacation. My mom made a huge deal of that: now in retrospect it was to get me out of their hair and outside LOL.

looks promising, a forecast of "6" is a pretty rare occurrence around here, tomorrow is a "5" and then "4' for Thursday and beyond...

Forecast: Auroral activity will be high(+). Weather permitting, highly active auroral displays will be visible overhead from Inuvik, Yellowknife, Rankin and Igaluit to Vancouver, Helena, Minneapolis, Milwaukee, Bay City, Toronto, Montpelier, and Charlottetown, and visible low on the horizon from Salem, Boise, Cheyenne, Lincoln, Indianapolis and Annapolis.

Aurora Forecast | Geophysical Institute

skies forecasted to be mostly clear.

key tip: look to the north

Good info also they said on our news best time around midnight to about 2 am. That is around the Duluth area and NE Minnesota get somewhere dark.

Very cool, thanks for that info!

I haven't seen a good display since 1994 or so. I'll never forget how other worldly that experience was.
