I havent lived there. But I've lived in some MN towns at random and what I can say is that theres probably not really a heart or a soul or many vital organs pumping anything that would indicate a pulse. But there is a walmart and probably a few trees but more agriculture than trees...and there appears to be some cultural association w/ S. america. I dont understand that but it seems like a good place as far as small towns go the standout evidence being a few parks and a walmart

Nice downtown, not yet ruined by Walmart. Good brewpub next door to a great pizza place (same owners). Great cafe across the street. Set on a bluff overlooking the Minnesota and Chippewa River valleys, one could do worse in western Minnesota. Only a couple of hours from the TC Metroplex.

They are a "sister city" to Montevideo, Uruguay. http://www.montevideomn.org/index.as...C-F495CFAEB7C1

Well, it depends where you're coming from. Not much in Monte. Or in the area, unless you like rural. Like someone said, you could do far worse than Monte though for western MN.

the thing you have to realize about montevideo is that it has little to do with the count of monte cristo and even less to do with videos. A lot of people come here hoping to find a video store that offers unlimited copies of the count of monte cristo film adaptation. Of course nowadays in a post video store era, their hopes and aspirations go unfulfilled leaving them embittered by a county that seemed so promising in name. But they stay in town anyway because you could do a lot worse in that area of minnesota
