A very Minnesota topic....I sure miss Marshall Field's. I was in Macy's today and it was extremely disappointing. I really miss the Field Gear line because they carried tall sizes. "I heard" that Macy's may be pulling out of Minnesota because of the cold reception that Marshall Field's customers have given them. Up in St Cloud, Herbergers has to be loving life now that most of the old MF shoppers go there now.

What do you think...Marshall Fields or Macy's?

I knew somebody would bring up Dayton's. I tried to edit the poll to put them in there. Dayton's was the best! I guess the vote would be for Marshall Fields then??

I guess I would be for Marshall Fields, though Macy's carries some brands that MF didn't...I preferred having the option of going to MF or to Macy's versus having only the Macy's option.

I know that at first hearing about Macy's taking over I was utterly disappointed since I had always had kind of a..."cold" perception of Macy's (I had only been to the MOA Macy's so it definitely wasn't a very justified opinion, I guess). Marshall Fields and especially Dayton's had so much more of a "person" feeling to me though.

Marshall Fields was always better than Macy's. When it changed I stopped shopping there because of some stupid, bias reason. But I prefer Bloomingdale's anyway.

I had the worst customer services experience of my life w/ Macy's. I was not at all pleased to see that they had taken over Marshall Fields. The in-house labels (Charter Club vs. Field Gear, etc.) are much poorer quality w/ Macy's. There's no real cachet to shopping there anymore.
