Thank you. Thank you.
Thanks for the Memories.
That's the Southdale I remember growing up in south Minneapolis.
Still a great center, but not the same as it was.

This appears to be from the 1950s:

#15 in the link below shows the exterior of Donaldson’s on Nicollet Mall around 1970.
https://www.metv.com/lists/17-little...pening-credits

The Donaldson’s lettering appears blackish against a beige concrete background. This is in contrast that to the lighter beige/brown colored lettering of Dayton’s, located nearby on Nicollet Mall during that same time period.

This shows that Donaldson’s coloring varied according to time period and location. The photos and videos of Donaldson’s at Southdale in this thread are circa 1950s. I wonder if their coloring didn’t change in later years, as the mall changed. I frequented the Donaldson’s at Southdale throughout the ‘80s, so perhaps their lettering had changed to a darker color by then?

I worked Dondalsons in high school and later on in advertising. They changed their logo font several times. But the pictures linked by other posters in this thread show a few.

Why are you making a 3D model of Donaldsons? Interesting project. Can we see it when you are done? Or after it’s use?
