Live in MN. I would have to find a place to live, which I don’t have an obvious option not to mention all my belongings. What would happen if I do call the police and report them? I’m the victim. They kicked me repeatedly in the leg and I’m on the blood thinner Warfarin and my leg has swelled up and sports a nasty bruise.

Did you file a police report? If not, why not?

Not yet for the reason explained in the post (i.e. I wouldn’t have a place to live). Also worth noting that the landlord in question is my biological parent who I pay rent to monthly.

How old are you, and how old is your landlord / biological parent or whatever you want to call him or her? You say you are the victim, which you obviously are in this case, but what about your parent(s) who have come to have you as a child? Maybe life isn't fair for them either.

Could you get them on here to give their side of the story?

If you have a lease, then only the courts can kick you out. Are you saying the courts will force you out because your LL is dangerous to you for safety? I dont think that will happen. The court may even award you some monetary damage compensation.

The OP sounds like an adult who lives at their parents house. I can understand the not having anywhere to turn or help via having zero leverage. Sounds like a domestic problem, not a rental problem.

OP, you don't have to report them to police immediately, but what you DO have to do immediately is see a doctor so the damage to your leg can be documented and photographed. Once you have the evidence, you can decide what to do next. But if you let too much time pass, you won't even have any evidence. Go to an Urgent Care clinic if you don't have a primary care doctor who can schedule you right away.

I went to the ER on Saturday and my Primary for a follow-up today with another scheduled for Thursday as the doctor wants to watch it and make sure the swelling is going down and there isn’t a risk of Compartment Syndrome developing.

In Ohio, it is actually both. It is violence against a family member and she is also a renter, so she has to be legally evicted. Courts across the country are pretty consistent in these matters.
