Hi

I work at the Natl Weather Service Office in Grand Forks ND.... just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the strong storm system and high winds to impact the region Tues-Wed. Strongest winds in western into southern Minnesota roughly west and south of a Roseau-Wadena-St Cloud-Cambridge line where wind gusts over 50 mph will be possible. Heavy snow could impact far northwest Minnesota Wednesday...with rain elsewhere. But the big news will be the wind...

National Weather Service Twin Cities/Chanhassen, MN Forecast Office

I got a weatherbug pop up on my phone yesterday about this and thought that it must be bad if they are warning us about it already. We are bringing in our lawn furniture tonight just in case. It smells like snow out there.

It shouldn't be too bad in the Cities -- they have all the trees, buildings and hills to kill the wind. It's going to be really windy on the prairies of western and southern Minnesota.

Tell my neighbors that while they are getting their roofs replaced because of the last wind storm. Trust me, it still blows here in the cities, even with trees and buildings.

Well, at least their not prediciting another halloween blizzard. As long as its just rain and wind, most of us will be fine. The wind is starting to pick up here, and it just started raining, but with temps in the 60's it dosn't feel so bad (yet).

Is it time to run in circles while screaming and shouting yet?

Oh, wait! I'm not up there right now.

My wife told me about this - she said they're predicting a mega-storm on Lake Superior because of the wind. Personally, I'd rather be back in Duluth in the wind and cold (and by the fire) than here in the muggy southland, but I get to go home on Friday.

Hey Dan, how about hooking my wife up with a NOAA job?

Can't wait to see the youtube videos of the waves on Lake Superior after this storm! (Just hope no one kills themselves over getting the perfect shot.)
