Hello all, My wife and I are looking to move to Golden Valley within in the next month and I am hoping to get some opinions on the area. We have a house we are looking pretty strongly at on 17th Ave N. Any information about the area would be greatly appreciated. Thank You!

Golden Valley is huge. It can feel like Robbinsdale in some places and Plymouth in others. I know, doesn't help you since you don't know what Robbinsdale and Plymouth feel like!

Golden Valley is in good proximity to the lakes. You might be close to the grand rounds parkway system too. Great location for driving into the city. Myself, I'd probably live a little deeper in since I prefer biking, but Golden Valley is possibly a very bike able location. You could get downtown in half an hour.
Looking at where 17th is, however, is probably the border of Golden Valley. Bordering on the northside where the poverty and foreclosure bomb went off. It's not that bad really.. West Broadway is staged for artistic revival.., but the closer you are to the parkway, the more comfortable your wife will probably be.

Here are some looks
