I was thinking of offering grain/grass fed beef for sale to anyone that might care for that. We would offer packages starting at $50. The $50 package would include probably 20 pounds of hamburger 10 pounds of steaks and 10 pounds of roasts. We use a certified locker plant to process the beef. Would there be an interest and is there a problem marketing in this manner? Looking for advice and helpful insight. Thanks.

It costs about a $0.50 a pound to get cattle ready for market on top of what you paid for your herd.

People want to know what they're getting.

There isn't an exact 20/10/10 hamburger/steak/roast ratio. Some cuts are best left as roasts, some as steaks.

The cheapest cuts of beef (minus hamburger) start at $2.00 so you're already behind the eightball.

If I were you I'd use the standard front/rear quarter system.
