Thanks! The effect is from editing. I initially set out that day to get some shots using my neutral-density lens filter but I got too cold. So, I played with the images I did get in PS Elements and liked how that one came out to an extent.

This is an awesome thread! I love all these photos. I'll have to contribute in the future. I'm glad I found this!
For now I have a cool video I can share. I did technique called "Tilt-Shift" and time lapse, to create the look of a miniaturized Minneapolis.

Lake Julia, a little lake near my house I have no idea what the name is, Lake Julia, Lake Julia again (but the boat landing this time ), and Lake Bemidji boat landing. I've been going through my pictures lately and realized I'm a bit obsessed with lake pictures......but really....can you blame me??

Minnesota is so beautiful. I went to Minneapolis/St. Paul to visit the Mall of America, but that was back when I was 6. I wish I was at least out of high school, had a great deal of money (don't we all?) so I could travel to revisit places like Minnesota.

Marlin, the great thing about MN is that you don't need a great deal of money to come enjoy it. All over the state you can find great cabins for <$500 a week (many places you can probably get even cheaper). The cabins have kitchens so you don't have to spend money eating out. All you need is a $25 state park permit and you are all set!

Talk your family into coming for a summer vacation! Its too hot in Texas in the summer anyways.

A church demolition at dawn, near Emerson & Broadway, Minneapolis. Taken with a 100 year old Kodak 3A folding camera onto paper negative. It looks like a WW1 battle scene...
