ok, well i have major problem. I'm going to be 18 years old in a couple months and i have been planning on moving outt of my house when that day comes. I have a really nice place to stay and move into and its a much healthier home life than the one that i am in now...i've been having a lot of problems with my family which led me to cutting this year and i was admitted to the hospital because of what my parents and siblings had put me through. I have been counting down the days until i turn 18 so i can move out and start my new healthier life, but today someone informed me that in the state of minnesota, if i am still a high school student i cant move out of my house legally until i graduate. This sent me on a frenzy because i have been so excited to just leave this hell hole for so long. So i need to know, can i legally move out of my house as an 18 year old high school student? or will i be living here until i graduate? PLEASE HELP ME!!!

I could be wrong but I think it is that your parents are supposed to provide you a home until you're done with high school, I don't think force you to accept it though because you're under no legal obligation to graduate. My niece moved out before graduation.

You are a legal adult when you turn 18.

Unless things have recently changed, I knew of a few 18 year olds who told the school no one but them got reports of their grades or reports of displinary actions and the school complied with their wishes.

They were legal adults and responsibilities legally rested with them regarding grades and displinary actions.

I moved out to my own place when I turned 18 and still in high school (work release so able to work enough to pay bills).

I got a note from my parents stating that I could make my own decisions and all correspondences were sent to me.

Please seek help if you are having issues with your family and have turned to "cutting". That is not good.
