Hello,
I just subscribed to this sight looking for some answers on the town of Zumbrota. Could anyone tell me if there are healthfood stores in town? I am possibly moving up that way and need Certified Organic foods and 100% natural supplements. A great big thank you to all your answers in advance.
Rhonda

The large ball of twine near Darwin was mentioned. I had to do at least one unusual thing when I visited (2005) and that was it. Check out the museum next door and you'll find out that Weird Al Yankovic once sang a song about it and some other interesting info. I also had the good timing to be there when suddenly three older women got out of their cars with antennae costumes to commemorate the event!!

I'm not sure about Zumbrota, but it's only 20 miles from Rochester where you will find what you need if you cannot find it in Zumbrota.

I'm not sure if this has been mentioned, but Franconia Sculpture Garden in Shafer along Highway 8 on the way to or from Taylors Falls. It is another kind of sculpture park/garden and sometimes you can meet the artists as they are working on their pieces.

In east St. Paul's Daytons Bluff neighborhood you can tour Indian Mounds Park where there are burial mounds from the early native American Hopewell culture. Visit Carvers Cave, one of the oldest and best known landmarks along the Mississippi River. Take a walk in Swede Hollow where, according to the 1905 census, housed at least 1,000 Swedish immigrants. Have a cup of coffee and a yummy pastry in the trendy Swede Hollow cafe on east 7th Street right near Metro State University.
