Will people ever stop bitching and moaning about St. Cloud? There have got to be hundreds of cities across the US that are much worse. You can live peacefully in St. Cloud, a smaller city with more to offer than a lot of towns in the upper midwest. And if you get bored, just hit I-94 and head 1-1.5 hours SE and have unlimited cultural/entertainment options. I don't remember who said it before in this thread but you just can't compare apples to oranges and St. Cloud is apples and Minneapolis/St. Paul is oranges.

If you don't like living in St. Cloud, then leave.

Well I actually live there right now, on a street right by division, and I'll disagree a lot

I'll agree with that. I believe that even if one grew up in an affluent neighborhood on the coast of California, one would think it "sucks" and there's "nothing to do". Everything simply does suck in high school.

Now, once you're out, things don't suck as much. Things also suck less when you turn 21. And I also hear that things suck the least when you turn 25 and insurance rates go down.

True, but I would still choose Minneapolis or St. Paul or a neighboring suburb over st. cloud any day.

I wouldn't doubt that. I've neever been to St. Cloud, but many people have many different preferences.

I love Minneapolis. I have such good memories around the Minneapolis area, it'll be interesting when I move away..

I live in a small town near St Cloud and I have lived in Plymouth a suburb of the Twin cities. I much prefer it here!! Yes, it is quiet compared to the cities and that is the best part of it!! We don't have the crime here, kids can play outside or go with friends to the movies and I don't have to worry nearly as much!! True, it doesn't have the Science Museum or the History Center but in reality how often do you go there when you live there? We still go the cities on occasion to do those things and it isn't that far to go to get there. There is a pretty rose garden in St Cloud that we go to rather than driving to Lake Harriet. It is like anywhere that you live, it is what YOU make of it!! A person can be bored living in the city or in the country, it depends on if you choose to find activities to do or sit and complain that there is nothing to do.
