Hello, my four girlfriends and I are coming for a long weekend in July. We are in our late 20’s, like to party, have nice dinners and do light gambling. So far I have found Harrahs and The Horseshoe that seems like a nice place to stay. Anyone else have any other suggestions or experiences??? Just trying to find the best place to stay and hang out while we are there! We are trying to make the most of our time!!

Thanks!

Harrah's looks like one of the nicer ones in Tunica. There are usually concerts and comedians playing in Tunica There also the Tunica National Golf and Tennis Club.

A lot of ladies adore doing the long weekend thing at the Alluvian Hotel in Greenwood, a 4-star historic hotel and spa and restaurant with famous Viking cooking school classes across the streeet, several charming shops and bookstores, and going for a good run along scenic Grande Avenue. Almost a New York sophistication and atmosphere amid a charminig delta town (in parts). Greenwood has a couple of other famous and historic restaurants in town. This is about 1.5 hours south of Tunica.

Clarksdale has Morgan Freeman's blues joint in town for the authentic delta blues experience. And you have Beale Street and Mud Island in downtown Memphis to the north of Tunica.

Personally I think the Beau Rivage in Biloxi is total blast. Beautiful hotel, casinos, restaurants, spa and scenic outdoor pool, shopping, and easy access to activities along the Coast (Ship Island, historic and quaint Ocean Springs, Gulfport outlet shops). Everyone seems to let their hair down and is there for a good party.

Im not trying to knock you coming down here at all but with that being said besides the casino there isn't much of anything after that in Tunica, like the guy said above me there is Ground Zero but I wouldn't recomend a few late in their 20s girls staying in Clarksdale and yea Memphis is about 45 minutes from Tunica and plenty of fun things to do there so yall might want to stay a night or two at the casinos and maybe a few in Memphis so yall have a little more to do without driving around all day back and forth.

Make sure to head to Memphis and check out Gus's Fried Chicken and Central BBQ, as well as the Flying Saucer and Raiford's. The Civil Rights Museum is smack downtown as well. I think Memphis also has a version of the Ground Zero as well.

Casinos in Tunica are fun; but they are spreeead out. I'd recommend going to a resort that has two or three clustered around the same parking area. There is that Tunica River Museum, isn't there? I never visited, but it looks beautiful.

We are heading to Tunica the first week of Sept for a couple of days. As for Memphis bar-b-que, what about Neely's? We have heard it is one of the best, but I don't think we are going to stop in Memphis.

Yes, the Tunica River Museum sounds like fun and the little town is supposed to be charming. The first 2 times we were in Tunica we only gambled, this time we intend on just keeping the nights for that.

As for resorts clustered together, we are doing just that. There is only 1 group that are close at all I think, it is Bally's, Harrahs and Horseshoe.

Welcome to the website of Neely's Bar-B-Que - Memphis Style Barbeque Neely's BBQ is owned by Pat and Gina Neely of the Food Network's "Down Home With The Neely's" and it is located deep in Memphis. As far as being the best, I've been hooked on Leonard's Pit Barbecue - Home Leonard's BBQ which has been featured on "Diners, Drive-Ins and Dives". The closest "best" BBQ to Tunica is Interstate Barbecue | Memphis, TN Jim Neely's Interstate BBQ. That's Pat's uncle who taught him how to BBQ. There is a restaurant here in Southaven just off I-55 on Stateline Road.

I am a big fan of theirs. In fact, as many cook books as I have and as much as I cook, hubby still got me their book for Christmas. I doubt we will make it there this next trip, we only have 2 and 1/2 days and are 6 plus hours from Tunica, but hopefully next trip.

Thanks

Nita

Interstate BBQ in Southaven is a 35 minute drive from Harrah's at the posted speed limit. If you are driving through Memphis from AR, you will drive within 5 minutes of both Interstate locations.
