Does anybody know the ballpark on homeowner's insurance in Gulfport, Biloxi, Saucier, etc. north of I-10??? My family and I are relocating down there from Cleveland, Ohio and have no idea what to expect as far as insurance goes. We are looking at houses in the 130k - 150k range.
Thanks,
Melissa

I think you might get the best ballpark quote from querying insurance companies. Which company do you currently use? Some people save on homeowners by putting all insurance with the same carrier. Of course your insurance will depend on many factors such as credit history, insurance experience... the age and type of home you buy, the deductible you choose. There are many new home subdivisions N. of I-10. What size of home do you envision?

Look into Lighthouse insurance in Biloxi! I did some major shopping around ( and bought a house in one of the highest areas) and they were by far the best deal with the best service. Good Luck

you need to know the exact mileage from the coast that is how they determine the cost of insurance. remember just because they quote you a cost that it includes hurricane coverage!!! Many will tell you it is not required but that area was badly damaged during katrina!!! ask all questions about the coverage you get!!!!
