We recently moved from San Diego Ca to Memphis, after searching for a good community we decided to purchase a house in Southaven MS (Getwell Street) it is a wonderful area but we are not very familiar with activities or Churches communities, would you please help us to find places where we can meet people (family oriented) my husband my son (3 yrs old) and my self will be very glad to see your comments.

Most people meet others through churches, though I can't give any advice on specific churches. Also, your son will soon be old enough to be on a sports team, and that is a good way to meet other parents. When he starts school, get involved in his school.

Hermano!!
Hey....moved here from the Imperial Valley last November. I settled in Hernando though...Southaven was too crowded for me. You will do fine though being from SD. Not a family man, so I can't offer much info on where to meet and get to know other families, but you will find that the people here are great.

Tennreb, thanks for your responses I'll search for a church in my area and yes my son will 3 years old soon so he can start doing the sport activities, I'm a working mom and unfortunatelly I don't have much time to meet other parents, but you are right his school wil be another option.

My family (husband, son 9 and daughter 5) and I are getting ready to move to Southaven this week. We've rented an apartment while our home is being built (off Getwell). We are looking forward to the move, getting settled in a new city and meeting new people. I'll keep in touch. How do you like Southaven?

Southaven it’s a great and friendly community, we moved (2 months ago) to our a new house in the Shelburne subdivision with Chambliss builder and I have to say that it is a tremendous different experience from where we were living before (Memphis)
You are going to be happy in this area, I also have a 3 years old son and I’m constantly looking for different places and activities for us, keep in touch to share activity tips.

Southaven it’s a great and friendly community, we moved (2 months ago) to our a new house in the Shelburne subdivision with Chambliss builder and I have to say that it is a tremendous different experience from where we were living before (Memphis)
