I wouldn't put too much thought on a study that gave Dallas an F, and Fort Worth a B-.

great point. I don't put too much into these studies anyway. One year Albuquerque was the healthest city and the next year way down the list. I guess all those healthy people left town.

They are fun to read, but not worth much else, maybe bragging of not bragging rights for a short period of time.

I suspect most "worst" lists are authored by someone that doesn't live in the "worst" area. It makes them feel superior.

Normally I agree; some magazine or group takes some sort of raw data, massages it using random assumptions and criteria, and prints out the result as a scientific report. However, this report was prepared by the CDC, which lends a bit of credibility. [LINK] The big problem is that the raw data wasn't scientifically gathered. Instead, they conducted a phone survey where they asked people their height and weight. Honestly, do you know your precise height and weight at this moment, and if so, would you tell the truth to someone conducting a poll on the phone?

I'm not a math or statistics person and I certainly agree with everybody that the USA is getting fat and it is a problem. The way I think about problems is attack the area where you can do the most good for the least. I think that California is a bigger problem than Mississippi. Calif. has over 9 million fatsos and Miss. has 1 million. Solve the biggest problem first.

Not really. I have no problem with the content that was posted, just in the childish manner it was posted. I could say, for instance, go over to the LA board and post all sorts of derogatory data there, but I really don't see the point of it. How are things down on the bayou, by the way?
