Hi everyone.

I am from Ontario & my company is sending people to the Blue Springs area to train people for the toyota plant. I have volunteered to go & am just looking for some info on the area.

They will be putting people up so the housing is looked after... but what I would like to know is what the weather is like throughout the year.

I ride horses so is there any boarding places nearby?

Probably a weird question but how about the creepy crawlies? I'm ok with bugs & snakes etc but anything poisonous gives me the heebee geebees (we don't have any poisonous critters here except for the occasional ones that hitch a ride from further south).

Thanks for any help you can give!

I hope you don't look forward to snow. We may get a light dusting once or twice a year, but thats about it. Mild and pleasant spring and fall, but long and brutally hot summers.

NE Mississippi doesn't seem to have as many poisonous snakes as the Delta, but there are Black Widow spiders in relative abundance. You should make sure you aren't allergic to the varieties of wasps we have here. Some can definitely ruin your day, allergic or not.

Expect daily highs in the 50s from December through February, with perhaps 3 or 4 weeks of truly cold weather (30s) mixed in. After that its March 60s, April 70s, May 80s, June through August 90s, September 80s, October 70s, and November 60s.

Thanks for the responses so far. I wasn't expecting snow, we get enough here so not having it will be a nice change.

It's good to know about the wasps. I am allergic so I will definately have to get an epi-pen.

Now if only someone can tell me where I can ride...
