Me and my husband are new to the Meridian area. I was surfing online and came across this Neshoba Co. Fair. I've asked around and it seems to be more like a family gathering or that's what I've been told. There were some really awesome cabins fixed up with bright colors and things. Thought it might be a good weekend getaway. We were considering attending just need a bit more info?? Also need somewhere to stay and Ideas?? Please Help!!

Question to anyone out there. Is the Neshoba County Fair still a racist platform? It seems like I remember someone saying that it is a political platform for white supremacy disguised as a family fair. Is this true?

Absolutely not true! It's really a fun event from what I've heard. I've only been to it once, but I didn't see any white supremacists. They will probably have most of the political candidates speaking this year.

I'm sure their not still making racist speeches, but I do think it is how the fair started years ago.

You are talking about the 1960s. Every major politician in Mississippi speaks at the Neshoba County Fair, from the most progressive to the most conservative. There is no white supremacy going on there. It is definitely a family event, but it can get wild at night as the partiers come out (but nothing like bourbon street, just a lot of drinking going on).
