Perhaps some of you folks can help me. I've lived in Columbus most of my life, and while I've heard of "Three-Legged Lady Road" I haven't been able to locate it. Apparently, it's a very popular attraction with students at the W. I have heard a couple versions of the story: You race the lady down the road and try to beat her to the bridge; the lady stands guard at a little church on the road. I'm a nut for ghost stories and hauntings, and I have been trying to find this place for years.

Any help?

No one? All I know is that there's a church on the road and it's located somewhere in town. I'm really interested in finding this place.

Columbus is supposed to have a lot of ghostly stuff going on - also Gluckstadt at the church. I can't remember much, that was from when I was a child. Why don't you locate you a student and ask? We'd be interested to hear what you find out.

Default Three Legged Lady Road

I live near Three Legged Lady Road, and I've been down it a few times. My mothers friends truck went dead out of no where when she and her children were going down the street, and when my mother took me down there one time, and we stopped, during daylight around noon, near the bridge and got out to go look around at it.When we got back in the truck and started going, something thumped the side of our truck, and when my step-father saw the marks on the side,it look like some little person had thrown them self at the side of the truck, trying to get at the door handle on my side.

I plan on going down Three Legged Lady Road again sometime

Can you give me an idea of where it is? I was told by someone that it's off Holly Hills Road, but I never came across a bridge or church. I'm determined to find this place.

This post is a year old, but just in case.....

It's real name is Nash Road. Turn off of Hwy 45 onto Wilkins-Wise towards the lock and dam. Then turn left at the stop sign (if you turn right you'll go to Proffitt's Porch; if you go straight you get to the lock). It's an IMMEDIATE right after that. The church is gone now. It's a gravel road that eventually runs into Plymouth Rd. Turn left onto Plymouth and it'll take you past the Sports Page and back to Hwy 45.

Default Three Legged Lady Road

It has been years since I have been down this road. I moved from Caledonia in 1990, but spent many weekends in High School driving this road and going to the little white church. My friends and I never saw anything. We even got out and walked around the church at night. The woods around the road to the church were very thick and spooky but nothing out of the ordinary ever happened to us.

Just past the church many people said to have seen a tractor in the field plowing in the middle on the night with no one driving or a headless person driving. Nope never saw that either. But it was always fun anyways to get a little freaked out.

I am writing a paper right now on urban legends so if anyone has some information on where this story started please feel free to e-mail me at eddcostner@aol.com

I lived on Holly Hills Road from 1978 to 1980, so it's been a very long time since I was there. I never heard of "Three-Legged Lady Road." Why, pray tell, does the legend say she has three legs? (I'm almost afraid to ask...LOL!)
