Ha, I know! I'll be moving there by the end of the year and I'm a little freaked out. My boyfriend lives there now and doesn't believe this story though, says he's never seen a tornado in Smith County. (yet )

Weren't there bad storms last night? I was watching the Weather Channel and it looked like big storms were moving in around midnight.

Too many trees in Mississippi to easily see tornadoes. Storm chasers go to KS and OK because you can see for miles and get great footage of the twisters. The storms in MS happen at night a lot like the one last night that severely damaged my dad's shop and my uncle's house.

I know it's easy to twist the truth using statistics, but I believe this one.

If you're curious, here's a link to the actual publication:
Tornado Risk Analysis: Is Dixie Alley an extension of Tornado Alley?

The maps are in the back.

There was severe storms last night. Tornado sirens went off by my house in Pearl but, the weather was actually calmer than I expected. Thats not saying other parts of the state did'nt have it worse. They did.

I believe that Alabama recieved the most damage yesterday.

Thanks for this publication. This was very interesting. I have lived in the state all my life and I never assumed Mississippi has it the worse, in the terms of Tornados.
