I'm new to this forum, but I'm currently contemplating a job switch that would have me working in Greenwood, MS. I'm not unfamiliar with the Delta, but I'll admit I've spent most of my time in Itta Bena or Cleveland. I've only been to Greenwood a couple of times.

That being said, I was wondering if anyone had any good advice on places to rent in Greenwood that were in at least decent areas.

I know Delta towns, though small, have their issues with petty crimes and various social ills related to a high number of low-income areas, but there has to be somewhere livable for someone making $35,000/yr. The commute is not a big deal, I can live up to 40 miles away from where I work.

Any help would be appreciated.

North Greenwood is gorgeous, right across the river from downtown along Grand Avenue and adjacent blocks. There are many cottages and bungalows and presumably some for rent if you drive around.

I will be relocating to Greenwood in August, I need a rental with 2 bedrooms, nice kitchen, with appliances in a safe neighborhood. I'm getting married in December and my new wife likes to cook. Must be clean.

I would suggest checking out Grenada it is about 30 minute drive right off an expressway. If you need information on Greenwood checkout Greenwood Commonwealth it is the local newspaper or even this website just not in the forum. Good luck with the move! It will be hard to find a rental in North Greenwood (over the river), or dealing with the 'Delta Crud', mosquitoes and allergies.
