I've been looking at new homes being built in Ocean Springs on realtor.com
They all have this "go zone" in the description.....what does that mean exactly??

Has insurance gone through the roof....the closer to water higher rates I assume?

Thanks.......

I'm not sure what Go Zone means but I know it has something to do with our post-Katrina world here.

As far as insurance, I can tell you that in March my rate for a 2,200 sq foot home about 1.5 miles from the Gulf will be $5K for wind/hail/theft/fire coverage. I'll let others weigh in but I know that rate is pretty consistent with my neighbors.

It's a program of tax incentives for building in areas devastated by Katrina/Rita.
