Good Morning,
Ok so very nervous and would love some comfort. I am moving to the BSL area and will be working in Gulfport. My husband and I have three children and this is a huge move for us. We are very social and would love to meet some people. We are both in our late 30's. Any Supper Clubs, or really just about anything that gets us out there. I find it the older I get the harder it sometimes becomes to meet people. Since I am working I cant do the stay at home mom thing and meet people that way and my job is very non social. I was wondering are there active churches that are active? We really just want to make this our home and are leaving a very tight knit group of friends so very nervous.
Many Thanks!!

Did you consider Ocean Springs? It is generally considered one of the nicer towns on the coast.

Are you looking to do things with your church or be active with your friends, neighbors and family?

I have looked at Ocean Springs but that will not be an option because of my husbands job. We are basically just looking to get out and meet some people and develop friendships. We do go to church so that is always an option but dont know of any churches in the area. Like a said a supper club would be great or something social.
Thanks so much,
Kristin

Hey! I have lived on the coast my entire life. Im 30 with no children. Honestly I feel like you or your entire family wont have a hard time meeting people. Ocean springs is the nicest city on the coast but thats probably because the bay and pass christian areas are still struggling to rebuild from hurricane katrina. Sad I know it happened in 2005. Absolutely no reason why we havnt bounced back yet. People around here got kinda lazy with all the government assistance and its sad. Some still cash in on any little benefit or freebie they can get!!!! Not sure about dinner clubs. BUT There is always festivals, yacht clubs, casino shows or events going on. Im considering moving to an area that better suits me in about a year. PLEASE ask me anything you want to know about the coast. I would love to help. Where are you moving from?

We are moving from Brandon MS and the thought of knowing no one and having no friends is scary even at 38..lol. We love to get out and get to know people and make those bbq saturday friends. Dont know of any churches. Doesnt one have to get invited to a yacht club and isnt that an older crowd??

No, yacht clubs are generally open to anyone who owns a boat, and I suppose people who don't own a boat, too. You'll find all ages of people at yacht clubs, but mostly they are your age.

A yacht is merely a privately owned boat. Nothing more.
