Well, it seems that Vancleave would be a little too hot, so anyone out there who can help with information on the Lucedale area please do so. I know it's about 3,000 population, also should be hot in the summer as per most of MS. I grew up in South Carolina, but have been away from the real hot weather for about 12 years. We have 2 mixed race sons, one is Eskimo and the other part white/black, ages 5 and 11. Hopefully, they would be accepted by folks in the community. Also, I would hope that the locals would be accepting of newcomers who don't try to change the world, but try to get along and respect others.

There are many mixed kids in Lucedale. I don't mean to be rude, but the majority of the young African American men tend to breed with white women. There a re mixed kids everywhere. The town however is not very exciting and does not have many entertainment options for children or adults. There seems to be a ridiculous number of teen pregnanies due to lack of activities.

Lucedale does not allow alcohol in the County.
There is not many, nice restaurants here, mostly fast food places and Mom and Pop places. Lucedale is very slow as far as progression is concerned. The only thing people do here is procreate, drink, drive atvs, hunt, fish, and get into trouble. The quality of the city seems to be going down ever since Hurricane Katrina hit and brought trouble makers to our area.

Oh I agree! It is a horrible little sorry excuse for a town. I was there for exactly 1 year and it was the worst year of my life. A lot the white people are soooo stinkin racist it isn't even funny. And there is NOTHING to do. It takes close to an hour just to go see a fricking movie! We are out now and back in our hometown in Ohio.
