Hello all.

I'm a 27 year old current college student at Arkansas Tech University set to graduate next December with a degree in Print Journalism. This is my second college degree--in 2010, I graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Middle School Education, but decided teaching was NOT for me. I'm just wondering, what's the job market like in Mississippi for someone like me?

I'm a native of Brookhaven, MS, and all my family still lives there with the exception of my parents. I'm not really interested living in Jackson or anything south of there, so my question is, is there anywhere in North/Northeast MS that would have jobs for someone who wants to dip into Public Relations or Journalism?

I've been published twice so far in the Arkansas Democrat Gazette (Little Rock) with opinion columns, and I have a monthly opinion column in the Hattiesburg American starting this month. One of my columns was also featured last month in the Jackson Clarion Ledger, and I've been published twice in a national education magazine.

I'll have plenty more to add to the resume after next year, but as I asked, are there any jobs here or am I better off staying in Arkansas? Also, will I be able to compete with Ole Miss/State/Southern Miss grads?

I have no idea what the job market is like there, so I'm hoping someone will help me out. Thanks!
