Hello-
New here. I may be relocating to MS (for work in Jackson), and I am thinking that I would enjoy Madison...but I can't seem to locate any luxury rentals. Any ideas or suggestions? I would really like to live in a complex that is pet friendly, quiet, and has many amenities...I seem to see these places everywhere but Madison.

Madison doesn't allow apartments. Look at the complexes on Rice Rd in Ridgeland just south of the Natchez Trace near the intersection with Old Canton Rd and the Township at Colony Park in Ridgeland. These are both very good areas and just across the line from Madison.

There are plenty of luxury rentals in Madison. I just moved an associate there, who had no trouble renting someone's Seventies 'fine brick dream home', with an interior recently updated by a published designer. One of Madison County's many excellent landscape services is going to take care of everything outdoors. It will be as convenient, for them, as would be living in an apartment (but quieter...and roomier...and with a private three-car garage). There are a number of excellent nearby gyms, with pools heated year-round, and well-maintained tennis courts.

Movie people have no trouble finding rentals in Madison, either. That's been the case since they first came to Madison County, to film A Time to Kill. I believe that there are stars/directors, etc. renting in Madison at this very minute.

There have long been some developers, wanting to rape the town and steal the value others have created in their homes and businesses, by throwing up shoddily-constructed fire trap 'luxury complexes' just like the ones which quickly became crime-infested slum properties in nearby communities. Those communities, tired of the crime and expense they bring, are considering bond issues, to fund purchasing those 'luxury apartment complexes', to tear them down.

But back to 'true luxury' offerings not likely to become instant slums:

So close to Madison you won't know you've crossed from the city limits, are these luxury units: The Township at Colony Park - Ridgeland, Mississippi - Live Work Shop

And if you're a VIP, I'm sure that someone will rent you their decorated-to-the-hilt mansion-in-the-sky in Jackson's 'Barrington'. The elegant, embassy-style gates, alone, are enough to make one want to live there.

Too, there are the three-storey condos at The Breakers, right on the water. We knew two Egyptian professionals who rented there and loved it. 61 Breakers Ln Ridgeland MS - Home For Sale and Real Estate Listing - MLS #223726 - Realtor.com®

And there are plenty of luxury rentals near the intersection of County Line Road and Old Canton Road, in Jackson (I forget the names, but there are several choices), as well as many très chic units in Downtown Jackson. The old King Edward Hotel, and the Standard Life Building both have a variety of nice offerings. Standard Life Flats | Jackson Mississippi Apartments

Oh, and if this were a post-retirement home for you, and the multi-storey units at Lost Rabbit were thus inconvenient... and if you absolutely had to live in Madison, then St. Catherine's Village, a retirement community, has a wide array of units and arrangements available.
