The large and violent tornado that tore a destructive path across two counties in east-central Mississippi around noon Thursday, leaving one person dead and several others injured, was on the ground for nearly 70 miles, weather officials confirmed Friday.

Golly! That thing was so wide, I'm not sure I even would have realized it was a tornado. Would just have thought it was a cloud dipping down or something. How wide WAS it?

I got caught at the edge of a normal-sized tornado, once. The dip in barometric pressure was not fun at all. And the rain coming in around the edges of the windows after it had passed and the normalizing pressure outside was suddenly greater than inside the car... Most disquieting... One can only imagine what it would feel like to be near Thursday's killer tornado.

Just read the article, so can answer my own question: It was THREE QUARTERS OF A MILE WIDE.
