Hello All,

I have been entertaining the notion of moving to Diamondhead sometime in the next 3 or 4 years. I lived there several years ago and loved it!!! However, I realize things have changed there. It is now a city and I'm also aware that many people think the area declined after Katrina.
My question to people who are more familiar with the area currently, is it really that bad in terms of crime increasing?

I did not know Diamondhead is "now a city". When I last visited there was a small bowling alley and a McDonalds. This was post-Katrina. Did the city get built up after Katrina?

I've never been there. I thought it was a high-end place.

Diamondhead, MS

It became a city about a year ago. There had been talk of the area becoming a city for years-all the way back to the 80's when I first moved there. It was a great place to live-very safe and not cookie cutter like so many places.
