You will probably need to go to Hattiesburg or Meridian to sate your desires. Sorry, but that is about all I can offer. Laurel is growing somewhat but not that fast.

Myke Foot I think Sassygirl has it right. I am not real familiar with anything entertainmentwise in Laurel unless there is some night life I don't know about. It is a small town. However, in Hattiesburg there are live bands, theater, the university orchestra, Paul B. Johnson State Park and the Rails to Trails. Google them. Also on Thursday the Hattiesburg-American has a section on happenings and activities. Laurel does have the Lauren Rogers Museum.

I live close enough to say that the other 2 posters are correct. There is a decent bit to do with USM being in Hattiesburg.

Visiting
There is the Alamo Bar, always has live bands on the weekends. It is located in the Sawmill Square Mall. Signature's Coffee House has live bands. You should definately visit The Hotel Alice in Ellisville, its a beautiful historical landmark, with great food! Ask the locals about the hidden restuarants with good ole soul food cooking!
