Starkville Becomes First City in Mississippi to Pass Resolution Recognizing ‪‎LGBT‬ Residents.

The city of Starkville, Mississippi is sending a message to its residents that all people – regardless of their sexual orientation or gender identity – are worthy of respect and equality.
These are fundamental American values, and Mayor Parker Wiseman and the Starkville City Council are setting an inspiring example.

'Bout the dumbest, most counter productive waste of time I ever heard of from a city council.

Quote:
A poll conducted last summer found that nearly 60 percent of Mississippians under the age of 30 support marriage equality, while 64 percent of residents back workplace non-discrimination protections for LGBT employees.
The article clearly states that 60 - 65% of the people were on board already. Is there anyone out there who believes that the city council would have moved on such a grand proposal if the poll had gone the other way?

The few people who care if someone is, L, G, B, T, or Q will not be swayed by this proposal. If that is the biggest problem facing Starkville, MS, it must be a fine place indeed.

They're trying to get them to move to Starkville. Right now a lot people from that community live in Southaven and Jackson.

I don't trust anyone under 30. If same-sex "marriage" is "marriage equality", what is polygamy - "plural marriage"? There must be a lot of gays on C-D.

So, one has to be gay to want to see members of the :LGBT community be treated with dignity and respect? And to see them share in the same rights so many others take for granted?

(Pssst.....you can trust me. I'm over 30. In fact, I'm probably older and moldier than you! lol))

If the words " man and woman " are discriminatory, so is the word "one" that comes before those two words.
