I looked it up, and you're right. Mississippi leads the states in single parent families. Washington, DC is highest of all, but Mississippi leads the states closely followed by Louisiana, then Alabama and Georgia.

The percentage of single parent households tracks the percentage of population that is black. The higher percentage of black people in the state, the higher the percentage of single parents. And higher the number of single parent household, the worse the education system appears.

A married mother has to settle for genetic contributions from whatever gelatinous zhlub it was who settled for her.

Why not establish clinics for women who are intent upon procreating, and stock them with sperm from men with IQs of 150 or over? There are plenty of men in the world who have it ALL: over six-foot-four; genius-level IQ; gorgeous; well-behaved... It is these men who need to be inseminating females, rather than creatures incapable of anything but aggression.

In one generation, the problem of ineducable women whelping-out ineducable babies could be eliminated. Mississippi's obesity, Mississippi's anti-Gay/anti-woman hate legislation, Mississippi's mass neuroses, Mississippi's collective magical thinking, Mississippi's poverty... and the rest of Mississippi's myriad dysfunctions - could quickly come to an end, if only women could/would choose the BEST men as sperm donors.

It would certainly be better and cheaper, in the long-run, to pay a hundred-thousand-Dollar bonus to a Welfare Class woman inseminated by a clinic-approved genius, than to have her continue in the current mode - having babies by whatever creatures happen to get to her.

I have to say, you're on to something here. I, myself, am the son of an absentee father, and I have done well. In my case the absentee father was much as you describe..well, OK, he wasn't six-foot-four, and neither was he well behaved, but he was very bright. So there is hope for all under the Gloria Plan.

The dirty little secret is that single mothers cause many of the problems that make Mississippi come out on the bottom of many national rankings (however were are tops in STDs, obesity, poverty and teen mothers!). Childern of single mothers are much more likely to end up in a life of crime.

This problem can't be fixed by whitey. Black leaders and politicians are going to have to step up and tackle this problem head on, unfortantly we know this is likely not to happen, the few that have tried, like Billl Cosby, are made outcasts. Why is this? Who knows, but two things are certain, the more down you keep someone, the more control you have over them and the money is in the problem, not the solution.

Additionally, those 3 million individuals are Americans. We should demand better of Americans, who have more opportunity than any other people on earth.

Some of MR.2089 gripes are well founded, some are merely his observations or opinions. The hot summers can hardly be attributed to the current inhabitants.

And I must say that Iceland, in particular, can offer no claim to a great economy. Most of Iceland is uninhabited and uninhabitable; perhaps that is the secret to their success.
