I'm planning to move to Northern MS within the month and would like some recommendations on where might be the best place to land. Things are pretty bad here, and I need to get my rig out of here before diesel prices get so high I can't afford to.

I'll be coming with my truck and fifth wheel trailer, so I'm bringing a house with me of sorts. I checked around on craigslist and it seems there are actual jobs to be had there.

Can anyone recommend a really cheap RV park in northern MS? I'm thinking that perhaps I might also be able to find a situation where I can park the trailer and hook up for work or paying on the electric bill while I get a job and get established.

Michigan has been outright ruinous for me, and I have to get out of here while I still have the means. I'm basically broke, but I can deal with that, I grew up that way, and as long as I can feed me and my dog I'm doing alright.

Amy

I can't recommend an RV park, but the Tupelo area would be a good place to start over. It's cheap and has opportunity.

Best of luck with your move. There are lots of ex-Michiganers here on the Gulf Coast. It seems everyone's trying to get out of there.

If you are set on North MS, I agree with the pp on Tupelo being a good bet. I recently heard it is the fastest growing city in MS (though calling Tupelo a "city" kinda makes me laugh). There ought to be a good RV park near the Natchez Trace. You could look at Oxford, though I'm not sure what kind of work you are looking for. Memphis is just across the border from Southhaven, MS, and obviously Memphis is a big city. Canton has the Nissan plant that employs lots of folks and it is near Jackson, the capital. Good luck!
