I might end up moving there and I do like to have cocktails now and then. Not sure I want to deal with a dry county though..............
Someone needs to tell you that a lot of folks are sensitive to newcomers coming to town telling people how to live their lives.
Using the word "backwards" when speaking of Southerners will not earn friends. Look at what happened to a political candidate when she referred to a hanging, and you have some idea of the impact.
We are not "backward". We know what time it is and don't need to be told to "get with the times". The people of Prentiss county run their county the way they wish, just like the people of Milwaukee County run their county the way they wish.

Oh boy, struck a nerve I guess. So sorry

However, I'll say whatever is on my mind.

I am not sure I would call it backwards, but extremely stuffy and controlling maybe. You don't like to drink? That's awesome, but alcohol is legal and you shouldn't force your beliefs on everyone else just because they are living inside boundary lines.

It never stopped us though. On the rare occasion that we do partake we just drove to the county line to the north or the south of us. Tate county is now wet so no need to do that anymore, but antiquated laws never concerned me, I did what I wanted to do.

That should work out real good, being you will be newly transplanted from up north to down South.
