Nothing wrong with Clinton it's a nice town. More diverse than other suburbs likes Madison, Flowood and Brandon and has a college. Close to Vicksburg, if you're into gambling. I would rent for a while if you don't like Clinton, Madison is not far away.

If you are an urban hipster, Fondren (in central Jackson) may be the place for you.

Thanks a lot for your information.
Is the transportation convenient?
I don't have drive license, no idea how to go to work?

Very little public transportation in Mississippi and none in Clinton (unless Mississippi College has some type of limited shuttle service); but I'm sure Uber runs in Clinton. There is bus service in Jackson, but it is a little sketchy. Almost everyone has a car here, you will have to get one eventually.

You will need to get an apartment close to where you work, Mississippi is generally not pedestrian or bike friendly.

Dude, this is not NYC. Clinton is a tiny suburb of a small town (Jackson). There is no subway or bus to hop on and off. Without a car you are either walking everywhere (on streets with no sidewalks), begging friends for rides, or spending all your money on Uber.

Without a car, how will you get around to look at apartments?

If you manage to figure that out, I suggest you find a place you can walk to work and to a supermarket. Then save your money, learn to drive, and buy a car.
