We are moving to Meridian I’m two months. I have searched for apartments throughout the area. We are unfamiliar with the location and want to be in the safest place possible. We do not mind going North or Meridian as I have heard that area is better. We are used to the country so that does not bother us. Any names of apartment complexes would be nice. Thanks!

Marion is somewhat of a suburb of Meridian, small town of about 1,200 people or so just north east of Meridian, not much there besides a Family Dollar and a few subdivisions and a few local restaurants. I rented a Duplex in that neighborhood off of Panola Dr for $650 a month back in 2013-2014 when I was serving in the Navy at the Naval Air station just north of Meridian. It was a two bedroom 1 bath unit with about 750-800 square feet of floor space and a fenced in backyard with room for two cars in the driveway.

If you're close to or on highway 39 or North Hills Street or near Northwood Country Club, those are the nicer parts of Meridian. Also near Bonita Lakes Park. I have not kept up with Meridian as of late, but I had not heard good things in the year or two following when I left, which was September of 2014. The older part of the city near downtown is very hit or miss, and usually miss.

What kind of work brings you to Meridian? If you don't mind a 30 minute or so drive, Collinsville and Quitman are both small quaint towns near Meridian that people live in and commute to Meridian from.
