Hi-
In MS, I've only been to Jackson & Laurel Jan. 2008 in conjunction with a some friends' wedding in Laurel. Flew to Jackson then rented a car the next day & drove to Laurel.

I'm considering going on a mission trip to Gulfport with my church. I've never been there. What's it like??

Is it worth the drive from Dallas??

Thanks,
fallguy

I'd go back to Gulfport to visit if I could. Haven't been back since a month before Katrina. Was told it's very different then it was before but I still want to go back!

Cool 4.28.08

Thanks for the info.

Do you consider Natchez/Vicksburg via Alexandria, LA (b/c I hate malodorous Monroe!!) worth the drive from Dallas?? I've been to none of these towns except Dallas.

Talk to you soon!!

Default depends

It depends on what you're looking for. The Mississippi coast is a shadow of it's former glory, but it is still an interesting place to visit. It never was like Florida, with t-shirt shops everywhere and spring-breakers all around. There is a lot of great hiking around there, though. And the barrier islands are a great place to get away from the shore and see nature. There are a lot of casinos, though not necessarily in Gulfport. Most of the towns along the coast blend together, though.
