We can certainly agree here.

Funny thing about sports, it's one of the few things that truly unites all the races and cultures. Unfortunately the divisive politics has now made its way into sports.

I don't get it.
Dumb ol' Me had never considered the possibility that Alabamians might be a different race.

As someone who doesn't subscribe to the left-wing argument that only whites can be racist, I don't get why some whites (especially working class whites) get so worked up about "reverse racism." Black on white racism is easy to avoid for 2 basic reasons: 1) the majority has less to fear from the minority than vice versa and 2) whites are on average higher status by pretty much every socioeconomic measure.

I find this obsession odd, especially when the WWC has a legitimate grievance around class-based issues. It is pretty standard in elite circles to talk of whites as if they are monolithic group of upper middle class people with equal opportunities. When that is clearly not the case.

IMO, the great missed opportunity in contemporary politics is the lefts failure to discuss class-origin as a factor for diversity, along side race, gender, lgbt dimensions.

Why do you have the same initials as Jerry Kilgore, the former GOP nominee for Governor of Virginia? He was born in Tennessee too.

Let's not act like sports haven't been ethnically divisive along side politics.

Oh boy, I can't wait to destroy you on this one. Please continue.

Sports themselves are not ethnically divisive. It's man on man.

It's the idiots who bring ethnicity into sports, that can make things divisive. Just like anything else. It's about whining and gaining an advantage.
