I am considering a move to the Biloxi area from the Midwest. I am liberal and not religious. That being said, I do keep to myself and don't shove my beliefs down anyone's throat. How would I fare in a conservative state like MS? Any input would be appreciated! Thank you!

There are liberals everywhere in the state. Some are loud about it; some are not.
You'll do fine. Most people these days are not very religious.

Many people are still religious. They may not be open about it but they discuss about it with family members and close friends.

I think the OP was speaking about Mississippi and the deep south in general.

I live in Mississippi and most people I know and in my neighborhood do not go to church regularly. It is not what outsiders are led to expect. The media and Hollywood would have you believe something that is no longer true.
If you don't go to church and live in Mississippi, that's fine. People are used to it.

I doubt you will even notice it, no one cares.

By the way I don't understand this focus on politics in the moving decisions, it pops up so frequently in these state forums. Focus on what you have in common, which is quite a bit, not on the differences.

I don't get it. Focus on crime rate, cost of living, schools, job opportunities, taxes, traffic, climate, etc. in your moving decisions...politics should be one of the least of your considerations.

The Biloxi area has a lot of military bases, as well as casinos and tourists, and thus people from all over the country. Most people who live on the Coast seem to enjoy living there.

You will find that conservatives in Mississippi very much do shove their beliefs down others throats:

1. On the Ross Barnett (!) reservoir just yesterday, conservatives held their second Trump flag waving boat rally this summer/fall, on the water.
2. Today in Ridgeland a proud "3 percenter" parked next to me. Large sticker on his F250 was how I knew his affiliation.
3. My most recent trip to the supposed more open minded coast this summer, in ocean springs while having lunch I counted at least a dozen cars and trucks driving by with large Trump banners waving.

Ignore there who tell you that people keep their religion and politics to themselves. They very much do not.

But no one actually spoke to you.
So I don't know how you can say it was "shoved down your throat". How would they know how you feel?

You must have arrived either too early or too late.

It's an election year, an election month, these are common nation-wide.

And, dude, seriously, a bumper sticker is not exactly classifed as "shoving beliefs down one's throat".
