Relocating to MS & possibly found a house in a VERY wooded area of Hernando. How BIG & BAD can I expect the mosquitoes to get?

We had lived on the eastern shore of Maryland (Salisbury, MD) in the past & I remember the mosquitoes were just awful. You walked outside in the evening in the grass and were eaten alive.

Tell me also, are there any other odd bugs or unusual spiders to be concerned about. Can you tell - DON'T like bugs much!

Would you believe I grew up on a PA farm & loved every minute of it?
Thanks for your input.

Mosquitoes are bad. From about 30 minutes before dark until sunup. Fact of life, unfortunately. If you are in the country you may also have ticks. It varies year to year. I don't know of any other 'bugs' to worry about. Welcome to Desoto County.

BTW, there is a new local forum that you might check out for more local info. http://midsouthchat.com

I am told you have to worry about nats here as well.. what they call noseeums. They are pesky little buggers that also bite.

Eat lots of Garlic, they dont like people who eat garlic.. Masquitos that is.. also buy stock in OFF.. also get a bug zapper, every house in my neiborhood has one.

Too bad the mosquitoes don't know that. I eat lots of garlic and they seem to enjoy biting me.

They are pretty bad in the county & Hernando. Other cities do a fair job at spraying but Hernando is very lax.
Instead of starting to spray in April they wait until July & then are fighting a losing battle the rest of the season.
