People are just now - the past few days - starting to be serious about this.
During the week most people just sort of giggled it off. Took the kids to Kroger, and so forth.

It's too bad it took people that long. Just because we don't have all that many people in the state is no reason to believe we are exempt from getting sick.

The easiest and most reliable source for updates is here:
https://msdh.ms.gov/

If you don't have the virus, please don't deny folks who do by buying masks (if you can even find them!) I work at three Jackson hospitals and supplies are becoming limited.

Take the precautions seriously. Be diligent.
Help where you can. We'll get through!

I think the increase in numbers here has to with what your talking about and also, people didn't stay at home last week during spring break. New York state and New York city in particularly are having a hell of a time right now. They account for more than half the country's cases. The country as of right now is at over 38,000 cases and 22,000 of that is coming from NY.

Tupelo just ordered a mandatory shut down. All stores must close; no moving around. I made a run to Kroger (that's still allowed) last night at 9:30 and the place was picked about as clean as I have ever seen.
No dried beans of any sort... No ground beef.... frozen vegetables... dog food (?)...... lots of empty shelves.
So many people used to eat out constantly, and now teh grocery store has to start providing food for real meals. Some people obviously do not cook much because the area that was picked absolutely clean was canned chili and pizza!
You could still buy potatoes and Texas 1015 onions (like a Vidalia onion).

I've the drawbridge up, alligators in the moat, and archers on the roof!

Was that dumb, or what?
Go out and stay out all night, get rip roaring drunk and stoned and then try to believe your immune system will not change. Right.
