Is there an airport in Tunica? What is the airport code, or do you have to fly in to Memphis?

There is an airport but it is used by travel charters to the casinos. I don't think there are any regularly scheduled flights into it.

Flying into Memphis isn't bad. You are only a 30 minute drive to the casinos.

Thanks Robert! Will I need a car to get around to Casinos? Or would it be cheaper to take a taxi? Thanks for your help,

There are shuttles between casinos. Taxi? This isn't Las Vegas. These casinos are situated up and down the Mississippi river with cotton fields between them. I've never seen a taxi in Tunica county.

Looks like you are now in luck. Airtran is now offering flights directly into Tunica! Well they start in like two months. Check airtran.com for more info

Per Airtrans: AirTran Airways begins service in Tunica, MS, on Thu, May 06, 2010. Sheez, I can believe when Tunica and Tunica County was the poorest county/area in all these United States. Amazing what the casinos have brought.

I flew into Tunica last fall on a Charter. It is basically 2 airstrips in the middle of a field, and the terminal is the size of a C-Store. There is an Enterprise Rent a car there. I have rented there, but make sure you reserve ahead, and since it is not in the city, cars are expensive. It cost me $50 a day for an economy car, but they picked me up right at my casino

There are some regularly schedule flights to Tunica. Mainly from Atlanta to Tunica. You can take a shuttle or taxi from Memphis to Tunica, actually or hire a limo.

Flying into Memphis and renting a car is the way to go. It's still quicker to go down Highway 61 then I-55/I-69. Of course if you only plan to do one casino, than taking a taxi might be cheaper. Be warned that if you take a taxi back to the airport you will be charged for a R/T because they have to come down from Memphis!
I love the post card that Harrah's sends out with "Only 20 minutes south of Memphis!!". Let's see, 30+ miles in 20 minutes, hey that's more than 90 miles an hour!!!

Technically, that is true. If you leave from the city limits on highway 61, then it is 20 minutes. If you are leaving from east Memphis in heavy traffic then it could be an hour plus drive.
