Does anyone know of some websites or realtors that could help find me a small lakefront home? I'm willing to rent or purchase depending on the price. I've searched online and haven't found much from reators listing with waterfront data.

I'll be stationed at Meridian NAS. Any homes within a 20 minute drive would be perfect.

Default lakefront rental

Hi, I also live in Meridian and you should check out Meridian Star. com I just saw a rental at Dalewood on the main lake... thats one place you can look or call around to the realtors around here, Pigford&Corey, Winstead realty, century 21 to name a few most all of them have rental properties.. and if your looking for lakefront Dalewood is going to be your best bet there is always homes coming available out there and its not terribly far from the base.. hope I was helpful.. goodluck!!

Thanks for the tips; they are very helpful. Dalewood has a website that's pretty decent, but it doesn't tell about the fishing there. Have you heardanything about it?

If I don't decide to go lakeside, are there any areas in Meridian that you suggest avoiding? I've notice quite a few homes in need of work on Century 21's website, but know nothing of the areas. I'm a 30 year old male, dislike loud obnoxious people, like being able to comfortably walk outside at night and have no issue living in or out of town.

A main intersection in the nicer part of Meridian would be Poplar Springs Rd and North Hills Rd and then on over to the intersection of Highway 39 and North Hills Rd. Especially the area on the east side of Poplar Springs and just south of North Hills Rd is very nice, making up basically northeastern Meridian with the country club and golf course more or less in the center of that area. There are some big, nice houses in that area but also plenty of smaller ones. There are also subdivisions along Poplar Springs just to the north of North Hills Rd. There are some nice suburban developments along Highway 39 which runs up the eastern side of town including one I believe is called Eagle Point which also has a golf course.

Basically the best areas in Meridian is North Meridian, anything on or off North Hills St.. But you sound like you might be in the country type setting and if your are down Hwy 39 towards the navy base is also nice.. and even if you went outside of town into north lauderdale county (close to the base) your not far from town at all.. and the fishing in Dalewood is pretty good from what I have heard, most people enjoy it out there. Ok now places to stay away from lol anything near College Park, 8th street, Meridian Community College campus, Oakland Heights oh there are lots when your breaking it down like that but overall Meridian is a wonderful place to be Im a young mother of two and have been here all my life and I do enjoy it.. We have also have Bonita Lakes which is a great place to get out and walk, go hiking up trails and fishing.. Let me know if you have any more questions.
