You might try Vicksburg. The military park is full of bridges going over ravines, canons, monuments and such. There the bridges over the Mississippi River. There is Eagle Lake, an area hit by the recent tornado. And downtown Vicksburg is full of old and unique buildings.

When do you plan on coming down to this area? There is a one-way bridge over a wide point of the Pearl River in Copiah County. I think the bridge is still open and one side has the right-away so the other driver would have to reverse and allow your vehicle to continue across. Very historic and I remember coming across it several times as a kid when my aunt once worked in Crystal Springs. It's located somewhere in the Crystal Springs/Terry, MS area in Copiah County. You would enjoy taking pics. There is also an old railroad bridge over the Pearl River waterworks curve in the Belhaven area. We used to walk over from Murrah years back when I was in high school. Let me know when you're coming and I can try to pull the directions up for both for your. You can also visit the newly redeveloped Union Station downtown and the King Edwards Hotel downtown.

Meridian and Hattiesburg are both considered important railroad hubs. I'd say Natchez is probably your best bet for old houses and whatnot. You should also check out the Windsor Ruins near Port Gibson.
