A new fire at Evro outside Missoula has closed hwy 93 between mile marker 3 to 6. Evacuations are being considered at this time. Jeeze are we all going to burn up this season?

Yep I don't believe a rain storm is going to do it, look at what is called the 1000 hr fuel moisture it usually needs to be above 20%
go to this link and look at the different areas, It is very dry and the trees are going to take awhile to recover.
NRCC - NR10 Predictive Service Area

I have experienced trees burning in a snow storm and also when hit with lighting, so its going to be awhile.

Like we have all discussed created a defensable space around the structures, thin and branch all trees ground up to 8 ft or so chip all loose fuels laying on the ground trees are more healthy at 10ft spacing. keep all firewood away from the buildings. setup portable sprinklers if possible to a good water supply.
Look at the lay of the land fire won't move down hill as fast as uphill because of the preheating. Look for drainage areas that fire will channel up and clear those areas.
Propane tanks are they buried or trees all around them? point your vehicles out no time to turn around and head out. Is there more than one road out or? if only one you might have to make a stand and will need a clearing safe zone set up.
Sorry for the long post but if we all took precautions thinned and branched trees we could keep the fire on the ground and not up in the trees where its harder to fight.
