I will have to agree with JoeJoe on this one. I work on Broadway near Reserve, and thats about as far into Missoula as I need or want to go. I live 46 miles west off of 90 so I dont have to deal with the people JoeJoe described. but chicks in workout pants do look good.

What im finding out about people from Montana that are telling people all kinds of bad stuff about Montana is that they don't want other people moving to Montana!

LOL. I think that's great personally.

I'm still moving there though

My mom lived in Missoula for several years before moving out to the boonies. As far as the jobs go, I can tell you she and her husband had a decently difficult time finding jobs. And the people...nice enough, but nowhere near as nice as other cities I've been in (including Houston, where I live). Also, it's almost entirely white, so if you're a minority, I hope you don't mind being in a city that is more than 90% white. Beautiful city, though. Tons of outdoor stuff to do, and surprisingly hip for a town in the middle of nowhere.

Sorry, I just had to post this... when I looked at the thread title the first time I thought it was

"What's Missoula for?"

(No offense, Missoula). I was trying to think of an appropriate answer such as, getting a law degree.

Missoula is for higher education and it also a regional hub providing much of the trade, services, health care, employment and entertainment for a multi-county area (at least a half-dozen), just like Bozeman does. It would be harder for at least some of the surrounding counties to be what they are, hanging on to the extent they are, without Missoula or Bozeman nearby.
