I have been to Missoula once. It was summer and it got cold at night.

I thought Missoula had the prettiest setting of any college town I had been to with the mountains and the river.

I went downtown at night and the place was jam packed with college kids and adults. A ton of cool places to go and great fronts to the downtown area.

Anyway it was so crowded that I asked if there was some sort of festival going on. The locals said no, that in the summer it is always like that on weekends.

I've never been anywhere besides Austin's 6th street (college town was) that was more active in the summer time.

Missoula is a very pretty town and it has fairly mild weather all year round. In summer, the days can be hot but it does cool off at night and can ber down right chilly at night as early as August. Yes, it has it's share of cloudy skies, and yes, the forest fires can cause smoke that comes into the valley. But on the whole; the weather there IN MISSOULA is fairly temperate year-round. I have family there and visit quite frequently from MN and find it to be quite pleasant.

I've also found that Missoulians (much like most Montanans) really don't encourage people to come there to live. Forums like this will cause them to mention all of the bad qualities of the place so that no one wants to move there!
