Yep, Zimorino went to Arlee in 2004 I think. Didn't do well there and I think he's in real estate now. Ouch. The best pizza in Missoula has to be Biga Pizza. It's downtown-on Main I think. Amazing pizza, but they have soups and sands and entree-type salads too. The Uptown Diner is worth a stop. 50's decore-great atmosphere and the BEST milkshakes! My hubby likes pasties from Lisa's Pasty Pantry every once in a while. One makes a full meal-veggies, meat, crust and gravy. When I make them at home I put in more root vegs and he's not into turnips and parsnips as much as I am! Not forgetting the request for inexpensive eats, Taco del Sol, I am told, is one of the lowest (next to Costco!), and they use fresh ingredients every day.

What I'm looking for is Peroshki's. Used to get the meat and cheese ones, slice it open and put another slice of cheese in it then nuke it to warm it up and slather with mustard. I really miss 'em!

Yep - Tuesday nights at Higgins Alley are the best; pitcher and a hand tossed brick oven 3-topping pizza for $15. The Iron Horse is pretty decent fare at a decent price; The Missoula Club serves up a great dive-bar burger; Buffalo pies at the Shack are a tasty breakfast; and hash browns a gravy at the Oxford Bar are perfect for soaking up an evening's libations.

Hu Hot is the probably the best value for taste, atmosphere and price. On the higher end (for Missoula, reasonable if you've lived in SF, NY, DC ...) is the Red Bird and Pearl - top notch for $20-$30 per person.

Not "cheap", but reasonable prices. Sean Kelly's "Stone of Accord" on North Reserve. Great beer, good service, and very tasty Irish food.

The Oxford for sure! Plus they're open on Christmas.

Taco Sano, by the Holiday station on Fourth, is a good source of quick and cheap burritos. Better than Taco Del Sol imo.

$3 double gin and tonics on the Depot Deck, sliders at James' Bar (not cheap, just awesome) ... the best of cheap in Missoula used to be burger and a beer for a buck at Buck's club, but I've been away from town for almost two years and know the owner has died, so I don't know if Buck's is still in business. There is (was?) also a taco stand downtown near Kinko's that had "taco tuesdays" - two tacos (I like buffalo) for two bucks.
