Heya all, We will be down in Missoula on Sat May 29- our son is going to Miscon (missoula Fantasy/Scifi Convention) and we were looking for something free, or very lowcost, or the rest of us to do while we are there for the day.

We are interested in farm animals/pets, gardening, alternative power (solar, wind, brewing), history, and many offbeat things.

Any suggestions????

You could check out the farmer's market and people's market.

Definitely do the farmer's market and/or Clark Fork Market. Take a walk on the river trail. People-watch at Caras Park. Hike the M if you're ambitious. Check out the historical museum at Fort Missoula (small fee) or the Missoula Art Museum (free).

Enjoy your visit!

Only a bit over an hour away is Hot Springs Montana and this Saturday is their Mud Bog. It is really fun.

Thanks for the great ideas- It's so hard to find out what is up in a diff city when you are only there for a short time!

Hang out near the con. Talk to an endless supply of very strange people who convince you that your son is remarkably normal by comparison.

I haven't been able to get to a SF con in several years so would be delighted if your son would come back here and make a report!
