Sure, Nevada and Vegas were hot hot hot for many years. Huge growth. Now they have 14% unemployment. No thank you. I'll take slow and steady growth over that any day.

Color me unconcerned. MO is doing, as a whole, just fine.

^Thanks for the update. I've been waiting to hear if we did lose one all morning.

Get ready for a big showdown in Jeff City.

I wonder how much of an effect Katrina had on Louisiana in the census count? From what I understand, a lot of people did not return.

Good point. The states that were growing the most are now hurting the most. Most houses in CA and FL have lost 50-80% of thier value. That's just nuts.

Most of them went to other big cities such as Dallas, Houston, Memphis and even St. Louis got a number of them. They are still living off the government.

Missouri for all the flack it gets, seems like a stable state positioned well to grow steadily but not too fast, and avoid major fluctuations the next several years.. Just last night I talked to someone in Texas who clearly lives in a bubble down there. I predict its the next Florida/Arizona/California... I'll stay in this area

^I'm interested to hear more of your thoughts on Texas.

They might well be in a bubble, but I can't imagine their bust will be of the housing variety. Most of the state's housing is incredibly well priced.

They have extraordinarily low taxes, mostly because of oil money, however, and it remains to be seen how well they will adapt with decreased reliance on fossil fuels.
