Be safe out there! It looks like this thing is really coming together. 1-2" of liquid and a possible 20:1 snow to liquid ratio here in KC is going to equal a buttload of snow!

DO NOT drive out in a blizzard. Visbilities are near zero in western parts of MO right now. We'll find out how much our new retirees like winter weather in MO after dealing with this blizzard...

Are you in Missouri right now?

The road conditions cameras do show a significant difference between the impact West of Columbia and then relatively lighter going east to St. Louis. Sure with there were more cams along 69 so we could see the very North and very South parts of the state.

Anyone who wants to view across the state go back to the link in post #1 on this thread, open the link, then click on interactive map and in that one checkmark the road cameras for almost real-time viewing.

MoDOT Closing I-70 in Boone, Cooper and Callaway Counties
Travel Throughout Most of the State Is Not Advised
JEFFERSON CITY - The Missouri Department of Transportation is closing I-70 in Boone, Cooper and Callaway counties due to whiteout conditions. It's unknown how long the closure will last.
MoDOT and the Missouri State Highway Patrol are advising people not to travel. Most state highways are covered with snow making travel dangerous. Already some areas of the state have received up to 12 inches of snow, with more accumulations expected.
"This is not a good time to be on the road," MoDOT Director of System Management Don Hillis said. "Almost all of the state is covered with snow and some areas are receiving ice, making some roads impassable. Please stay home if you can."
MoDOT is coordinating its emergency response operations with the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the State Emergency Management Agency and other partners.
If you do have to travel, MoDOT urges you to plan ahead, take your time and know what you're up against by checking local news sources and the department's Traveler Information Map. The map gives drivers an up-to-the-minute view of road conditions for major Missouri highways. Conditions for major routes across the state are color-coded to give visitors the information they need at a glance.
Travelers can also call MoDOT's toll-free number, 888-275-6636, to get road condition information.

Has anyone taken any pictures yet? I plan to...
Had a Carolina wren sneak in the house, too! Managed to catch and release him before he banged himself into more than a few windows. Poor thing! My birdfeeders are getting lots of action today.

I have been playing out in it all day. I drove around some in my 1979 Ford pickup but the drifts are getting fairly deep across the road. So far I have about 11 inches of snow and a air temperature of 14 degrees with heavy snow and strong wind gusts.
